Local MPs Support

06th Jan 2008

Not sure how long this has been on his website, but whilst browsing the Internet today I came across an article on Stephen Hupburn MP's website pledging support for our school.

Mr. Hepburn states:

"I have this week pledged my support to parents fighting to save Boldon Church of England school from closure."

"I am backing worried parents who are concerned that their children will have to travel much further for their education. Parents understandably fear that the school, situated in Don Gardens in West Boldon, will have to close as part of a move to slash surplus places in borough schools."

"Therefore I very much support the parents’ fight to keep Boldon Church of England school open."

"The fact is that the school is one of the few Church of England-led schools in the area. Whilst other schools are amalgamating Boldon along with St. Bede’s school in Jarrow are proposed for closure. It would be frankly extremely disappointing to see these schools in my constituency close."
