It is becoming increasingly evident that a growing number of parents of infant and primary school children are becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of a local secondary school in Burnham.
If you currently have children in any of the primary schools shown below then now is the time to support the campaign to change this unjust situation, ensure your child is not disadvantaged and that you do not have to pay expensive yearly transport costs.
September 2024 saw 126 year 6 children from the following primary schools :- Priory, Our Lady of Peace, Lent Rise, St Peter’s Burnham, St Nicolas Taplow, Dorney and St Mary’s Farnham Royal all being denied the opportunity of continuing their education in Burnham.
Instead, they have to travel to Maidenhead, with the associated transport costs of £1000+ per year having to be met by their parents. We anticipate that the outcome for the current Year 6’s pupils , and their parents, will follow much the same pathway. We all need to raise our game to break this pattern and open a New Secondary School in Burnham.
We want and need to get you involved. We want and need to provide regularly updates on what is going on. We want and need to protect your pockets and your children’s educational future.
